Promotional Items and Corporate Gifts SREDNARB For Now

Jeff
From now until December, dear friends and visitors (who leave a message on my shout box), I will be visiting your blog twice for every single visit you make to my blog. And, I will be using two names which I will leave on your shout or chat box. The first one will be my name, Jeff, and it will be linked to aspacio.net and the second name which I will use to visit you for the second time at a different time within a 24-hour period after my first visit will be Promotional Items and Corporate Gifts SREDNARB and this will be linked to salebooksandmusic.com/srednarb_promotional_items_and_corporate_gifts.htm.

The reason for this is because I joined an SEO contest sponsored by Branders and the key phrase is Promotional Items Corporate Gifts SREDNARB and on December 22, 2008 at 9PM Pacific time, the top ten results for the three major search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) will be winners.

I don't have any formal background on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but I really want to learn it, not just learn about it. That is the reason why I had the guts to join the SEO contest which is open only to Filipinos. I hope I would learn a lot from this experience, as scary as it may seem (to me, at least).

I hope that you would support me in this and I would appreciate a visit to the other link once in a while. If you are even interested in sending in an entry then join us (visit promotionalcentral.com)! The more the merrier!

But for now, I'll go by with a second name - that is, Promotional Items and Corporate Gifts SREDNARB. Thanks in advance, everyone, for your support!

Digital Solutions

Jeff
Have youseen the Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover? Well, I have and the video that I liked was the Wedding Day Crunch. It was about Michael and Monika who are engaged and are preparing for the multimedia show they will be playing during their wedding reception. Zoey and Chris then help them with their cramming and turns everything into something spectacular.

If you haven't seen the show i would like to encourage you to not hesitate and do so now! You can also join the contest for your chance to be featured on the show or even win some great prizes.

A Great Birthday Weekend!

Jeff
I have been very busy these past days that's why I haven't been around my blog much. Weekends are usually my busiest time of the week because of church, but this past weekend was extra busy (special and positive busy) because my wife celebrated her birthday. Yes, on the same day President Marcos declared Martial Law many years ago. It was a great weekend as me and my son took Jennie to the mall to buy her a gift and to eat dinner together on the eve of her birthday. On her birthday, we had lunch at Eastwood City and strolled around then went to church again in the afternoon.

The day after, we just stayed home and did some catching up on our daily online money making quota and I decided to finally try hosting and found one that provided great service. This of course made me work on the Breaking Point site I set up.

Right now, I am just taking a break from setting up another web site which I intend to submit as an entry to an SEO contest as I try to learn SEO (no better way than learning on the job).

The Two TV Shows We're Following

Jeff
This past few weeks (and days) two of favorite TV shows being followed at home are "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" and the 4th season of Prison Break.

Stars of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager"

The brothers from Prison Break

Every week, as the two shows run in the US, we search for torrent files of new episodes for both shows and download them. This past four days my wife and I were catching up on Prison Break episodes and as we arrived home tonight from getting a few groceries we were happy to see that the 4th episode of Prison Break has just finished downloading. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for torrents of the 12th episode of the other TV show. We hope it becomes available soon.

A Request for Prayer and Financial Support for My Friends

Jeff
This few weeks I had three people I know diagnosed with cancer. The first one is an old lady from our church named Tess Legaspi. Presently, she is undergoing frequent treatments at Philppine General Hospital just after undergoing surgery a month ago.

The second one is a long time friend from our mother church, Ate Debbie, and she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She has just undergone surgery two Fridays ago and is till at East Ave. Medical Center. I will be visiting her tomorrow and will know more updates about her condition.

The third one is a pastor friend and he, Pastor Gary, used to be an interim pastor at our mother church. He has been diagnosed last September 11 of a rare form of lymphoma of the nerves, called neurolymphomatosis and has immediately began treatments at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

I would like to solicit your prayers for these friends of mine. They are all born-again Christians by the way and are all at peace with their present condition. I just ask that brothers and sisters in Christ who come across this blog entry to please include them in your prayers - and please pray that their finances would be provided even as they continue with their treatments. Please pray for comfort and strength for each of their family.

God is good and whatever happens we can claim God's promise of eternal life through their personal faith in Christ!

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

How To Place Links On Blog Posts For Blogger: Compose Tab

Jeff
This entry was made to provide clear instructions on how to place links on blog posts. I know that for many bloggers, this is very simple. But this is not for them, this is for those who need this and I know a blogger friend who actually needs this, and this is for her actually. Screen shots are provided below together with the instructions.

1) When you log in to your blogger account you will land on your dashboard.

2) Create a new entry/post for the blog you wish to create links in the posts for. Click 'New Post'.

3) You will then be directed to the 'Create Post' page. Make sure that you are on the compose tab (encircled with red line)

4) Proceed with writing your post. To create a link, just highlight the words that you want to have a link and then click the 'link' button.

5) A small page will then pop up and will prompt you to type the url or the web address which you would like to link to. Type the url or the web address, click 'OK' and you're done.

There is another way but it is more advanced, and you need to know the right html codes to type in to created the links. This is the easiest way, however.

A Blog Award From Lourdes' Mia

Jeff
Thanks Lourdes' Mia (Mommy Ruby) for this award.

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

I then pass this on to a few blogger friends: Miss Elle, Sveta, Summer, Kaycee, Russel, Junrey and Sheng.

Our Nissan California Project (Pictures)

Jeff
This afternoon I went to Malabon and picked up our Nissan California from my Tito Adolfo. Thanks, Tito, you did a great job! And I was so excited to drive it all the way to our home in Antipolo. I made a few stops before getting home. I inquired from the gas station where our car's mechanic is about the Nissan California's undercoating and it would cost me P1,600. That will be part of my agenda tomorrow. I also had our car's A/C filled with freon as it's been a month that it hasn't operated that's why it wasn't cooling up the car when I drove it to Antipolo. I also had the door locks and one of the window mechanisms serviced.

But through all these expenses was the great look of our car. It looked exactly as I expected it. It was funny because my Tito and I had the same exact choice of color in mind when we were first closing the repair deal. And I am really glad that the car came out to have that classic look and glossy finish.

I thank God so much for this car. This has been a real blessing to us. Since 2003 this car has been my companion during my hospital and home visits to our church members, traveling to Makati, camp preparations and during camp itself. I have driven this to Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Baguio City. During that time, its body really needed a lot of repairs. Even though it couldn't protect me totally from the rain because it also rained inside when it poured, I still loved this car. And this has been God's provision to us as we ministered to Makati while we live in Antipolo City, and God used the deacons of our sending church to provide this for us.

And now, its not so glamorous but faithful service to its master has payed off. Our Nissan California was given a treat when we had it go through a major body repair. Now, it looks classic and impressive, at least to me and my family and our friends who have witnessed and experienced its past services and its present transformation.

So, I am pleased to present our Nissan California who has been there with us through thick and thin. Below are some of the pictures I took when I picked it up from where it was repaired.

A great finish

The glass windows were also buffed

Some more cleaning were being done

Painted running board and mudguard

My distant cousin painted the Nissan logo white to make it stand out

I took this picture right after driving it out of the gate of my Tito Adolfo's house in Malabon

The Day Our Nissan California Returns

Jeff
In a while I will be preparing to leave for Malabon to pick up our Nissan California. It was brought to mt Tito Adolfo's house last August 8, 2008 and after 1 month and 4 days it is ready. They sure work fast. I am excited to drive home the car which I believe looks so much better now. I'll be taking pictures later and will post them ASAP. I just hope it doesn't rain much 'coz I'll have it undercoated right after I pick it up.

And IZEA Spoke Again - Shouting!

Jeff
I just received an email from PayPerPost about another blog they approved before, where I also guest post (namreg.com). It was about their blog assessment again. It said that this blog does not meet their standards for overall quality and will no longer be able to be used for accepting marketplace opportunities. It felt like IZEA shouted at my ear.

Ironically this blog still has a Page Rank 4. It gave us lots of opportunities while it lasted. The bright side is payments currently pending will still be made so at least the earnings through this blog made it all worth the while because a blog having a high PR at PPP really brings in the bucks.

I, of course, thank my college friend who gave me the opportunity to guest post while he benefited from the traffic created by the blog's revival.

Well, so much for the opportunities at PPP - 2 blogs down, 5 to go.

AUTOREPAIRPRINCIPLES.COM Has Successfully Published!

Jeff
I was trying to work on learning how to solve the problem I had with Google services about a few hours ago and was getting frustrated. But as I tried to publish through www.autorerpaurprinciples.com it finally worked! Thank God! I really don't exactly know what I did right but all I can remember was I erased the DNS settings at Godaddy and created a new cname record as prescribed by the help pages of blogger and voila - it published successfully! But I did all these a week ago so I really am not sure if it was the reason it worked or all I had to do was just wait and it will work itself out.

Right now, I'm just glad that everything worked out well - so it's autorepairprinciples.blogspot.com to www.autorepairprinciples.com!

Repairs On Our Nissan California

Jeff
Our car before the California Project

Shot from the rear left

I visited my car today at Malabon and its repairs are almost done (Jennie calls it our California Project). My Tito Adolfo and his colleagues will just be doing some finishing touches this next few days and it will be ready to be taken home this Friday. Boy, am I excited!

At Tito Adolfo's house when repairs began

Body repairs almost done

With the primer

But somehow I'm starting to feel nervous because I know that when I get it back there will be more parts to replace and more services to be done on my Nissan California. As I think about it now I would need to have it undercoated, have its tires and mags replaced, and eventually its rear two shock and spring assemblies. Some of the other things that are not top priority are the replacement of its sidings and probably even a semi-upholstery (a touch of beige would look real good with its cocoa brown body color).

On the way to its first coating (this is not yet the final body color)

I'm excited to take pictures on Friday. I intentionally didn't take pictures during my visit today because I wanted to get a real contrast to the end product. I'll keep you all posted, promise!

And IZEA Has Spoken

Jeff
First off, PayPerPost has responded to the support ticket I submitted regarding the blogs that had PR 0 in their system and they have updated my account as of last night. I was glad because the update was so obvious - I had 13 job opportunities available as compared to just one when my account was not updated. And I was able to grab two opportunities before going to bed last night.

But, the downside is I received an email from PPP regarding the blog assessment IZEA is having (they would extend that to Socialspark eventually) and, so far, one of my seven blogs approved at PPP didn't make to their cut. And the scary thing is IZEA's info says that if my blog fails the audit I will receive an email notification and will no longer be able to use that blog to take opportunities. I will still be paid for any outstanding posts that are currently in process and pass review. In addition to that, I will not be able to resubmit the blog for inclusion at this time. But if a blog passes the audit I will also receive an email letting me know I made the cut.

So right now 6 of my other blogs are left hanging, without any assurance that PPP would let them make the cut (I hope they do). It's a good thing I didn't put all my eggs in that basket.

Extra Reward For Blogging!

Jeff
Wow! I was surprised and excited to see some of the paid opportunities I did chosen as best posts to date at Socialspark (screenshots below). The first two were for this blog and the other one for my footballvideosandpictures blog.

I came across this info, about the first two at least, right after I did the opportunities. I was really happy to have my posts as best posts because I felt that I really worked hard on them and I looked real stupid while I was doing them.

For this last one, I only found out about this a few minutes ago. Just right after writing the post prior to this one. What prompted me was my visit to jpsimbulan's blog. I saw in one of his blogs that I visited a post about Football Stars. This then reminded me of an email I received from Socialspark hat I sort of hurriedly brushed off when I was checking my mail a few days ago which I eventually forgot about - until a few minutes ago. Seeing jpsimbulan's entry made me check my email (because I thought it was an invitation to write another paid opportunity). As I clicked the link in the email I received it opened to the advertiser's opportunity description page. I remembered doing a post for it and when I was skimming the whole page I saw that the post I made was the best post to date. And I thought, what a treat! It made me happy, so I decided to blog about it and share it to my friends online.

Is Something Wrong With IZEA?

Jeff
I don't know about you but this past two days, the two paid-to-blog services of IZEA have been having glitches in their system or the network's doing it intentionally.

The other day, I was withdrawing some money I earned from blogging for Socialspark and their system prompted that I did not have enough funds in my account to withdraw such amount. And it was less than $50 only, I mean, it wasn't a very big amount. I submitted a help ticket and the good thing was I was able to withdraw it yesterday. But the first thing that came to my mind was that maybe it was Socialspark who didn't have enough funds for the withdrawal I was trying to make. But everything got cleared up so maybe I was wrong for thinking that about them.

But, this morning, as I was checking for available opportunities in my PayPerPost account, I noticed that there were fewer opportunities open than usual. This made me check the 'my blogs' tab to check on the status of my blogs approved by PPP (I currently have 7 blogs approved at PPP but, as of last week only two of them remain to have Page Rank). I was surprised to see that all my blogs, according to their system, have PR 0! So, even though I was a bit nervous that the two remaining blogs I have with PPP that have PR might have been hit by a non-scheduled PR update from Google, I checked the two blogs in my browser soldoutlive.org and namreg.com. I was relieved that they still have PR and it was PPP who was having another glitch in their system. I already submitted a help ticket about this but I can't help but think that maybe, just maybe, IZEA was having some financial issues. Because having no PR in PPP's eyes means that there would be less opportunities from them. I thought that maybe they're just intentionally doing it so that they won't have to incur payment responsibilities for bloggers for a while.

But, again, these are just my thoughts. I have been blog hopping and have heard the buzz from a blogger friend, jpsimbulan, about PayPerPost and IZEA doing some cleaning up in their system. That they're trying to clean and trim their network of non-quality blogs (not accounts) without really defining their criteria for 'quality blogs'. Maybe this is what's causing the glitches in IZEA's paid-to-blog services.

But what do you think? What are your thoughts about this? Care to share them?

Starfish Pictures from Starfish Island in Palawan

Jeff
In one of the beaches at Palawan. I was able to take pictures of a female starfish. These were taken at the first island (Starfish Island) we went to during the island hop.

Female starfish by the beach, underwater.

I picked the starfish up and examined it. Divers in the area said it was female because it didn't have a 'horn' in the center. There was one male starfish around to compare this to.

I turned the starfish over and could really see and feel how alive it still was as its body moved while I was holding it.

Seeing underneath the starfish.

A closer look at the starfish.

After taking photos I returned it back to the water. Divers said it would last about an hour out of the water.

Going to Say Goodbye

Jeff
I just got home from Malabon where our car has been for the past four weeks. We had it undergo a major body repair, the first since we got it more than five years ago. It's a pre-owned Nissan California. I visited it and picked up some of its accessories which I need to get replaced so they would match the new body and paint.

Anyway, in a while, me and my whole family will be going out to visit a close friend. He is scheduled to leave for Dubai this Friday and tonight may be the last time we would be able to spend time with him and his family.

I am gonna miss him and I'm sure his family will, too - more than we will. But his wife has plans to follow him, together with their children. She had an interview last Sunday and will be expecting a call by mid-September. We hope they can be together soon.

I am happy that my friend will be able to go. They have been praying for that for a long time and I hope everything works out well. I am glad that they are both at peace with the decision to work at Dubai. I know they said they're not planning on staying there for a long time, but who knows? Dubai is a much better place than the Philippines. But I know this is where his heart is.
I'm off to see him now.
